ChiropracticManual Adjusting

Chiropractic: from Greek, chiro- “hand-"+ praktikós “with action"
Chiropractic is a healthcare discipline and profession that emphasizes diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, especially the spine, and how these disorders affect general health via the nervous system.

Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a holistic practice that recognizes that all aspects of people's needs - psychological, physical and social - should be taken into account and seen as a whole. The main chiropractic treatment technique involves manual therapy, including manipulation of the spine, other joints, and soft tissues; treatment also includes exercises and health and lifestyle counseling.

Chiropractic

Massage TherapyMassage Therapy

Massage therapists apply directed pressure to muscles and joints of the body for relaxation, stress reduction and to stimulate circulation and increase suppleness. Therapists at Spring Hill Chiropractic sometimes use adjunctive techniques such as craniosacral technique and Myofascial Release Technique.

Myofascial Release Technique

Myofascial Release TechniqueMyofascial Release Technique

Myofascial Release Technique is a safe and effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the myofascial connective tissue restrictions or scar tissue to reduce or eliminate pain and restore motion.

Craniosacral TherapyCraniosacral Therapy

A craniosacral therapy session involves the practitioner gently working with the spine, the skull and its cranial sutures, diaphragms, and fascia. This helps release tension and restrictions in these tissues and restore normal function. Craniosacral therapists use the therapy to treat mental stress, neck and back pain, migraines, TMJ syndrome, and for chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia.

Senior's HealthSenior’s Health

As we age the small joints within the spinal column stiffen. Gentle chiropractic adjustments restore and maintain suppleness, slow down and manage arthritic changes. Chiropractic is of great benefit in helping seniors to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle.

Activator TechniqueActivator Technique

Activator technique is a chiropractic treatment method and device that provides an alternative to manual manipulation of the spine or extremity joints. The Activator is a small handheld spring-loaded instrument which delivers a small impulse to the spine. Activator technique is generally regarded as a softer chiropractic treatment technique.

Custom OrthoticsCustom Orthotics

Orthotics are orthopedic devices that are used to alter or modify foot function and are designed to treat, adjust, and support various biomechanical foot disorders. The most effective orthotics, are custom-made devices that are crafted to meet the specific needs of a particular individual. Custom orthotics are created using an impression which duplicates any misalignments in foot structure. Technicians use the impression in an orthotic laboratory to design a device that balances out deformities and corrects misalignments. The finished orthotic is placed in the patient's shoe to support the foot and eliminate abnormal foot biomechanics by keeping the foot properly aligned.

Applied KinesiologyApplied Kinesiology

Applied Kinesiology (AK) is a chiropractic diagnostic method using manual muscle-strength testing to assist in diagnosis of the functional status of the body.  AK recognizes the triad of health: structural, chemical and mental well-being.

Sigma Pro-Adjuster

The computer-assisted analysis and adjusting device

Sigma1

If you are a chiropractic client you are familiar with the faint popping or cracking sound of a manual adjustment. To regulars this is a welcome sound but to others it may be a barrier to seeking the life-giving, healing therapy that chiropractic delivers.

Now, with Sigma Pro-Adjuster you can have an efficient, effective, light force adjustment without the snap, crackle and pop. Sigma Pro-Adjuster is a computerized analysis and gentle adjusting instrument. It employs the same state-of-the-art technology that is used in aerospace landing gear and other engineering applications.

The Sigma Pro-Adjuster measures the stiffness of the tissue or joint through the application of a light mechanical force and oscillating frequency, sending a signal back to the sensor, all before the muscle can respond.

Sigma2

Patients report comfort is increased because there is no need to turn or hyperextend parts of the body, head or neck. Sigma Pro-Adjuster delivers a gentle percussive adjustment until the feedback mechanism senses the reduction in resistance in the tissues, then stops automatically when the adjustment is complete.
Both manual and computer-assisted adjustments address the integrity of the spine and nervous system and create positive change in the normal range of motion improving spinal and nerve function. Both are safe and effective methods of delivering chiropractic adjustments.
Both Sigma Pro-Adjuster and Manual adjustments are available at Spring Hill Chiropractic. We are pleased to provide you with a demonstration. Ask us today.

Lana is very happy to be part of such a warm, friendly and knowledgeable team. She is passionate about excellent customer service and a healthy lifestyle, making Spring Hill a perfect second home. Working part-time allows Lana plenty of time to spend with her husband and two daughters.

EddieFaye Osiowy

Faye co-founded Spring Hill Chiropractic with Dr. Dave in 1992 when they ‘immigrated’ to Calgary from Saskatchewan with their three young children, Curtis, Wendy and Chase. As they grew, the children all took an active role in the family business, working at the front desk in reception, and learning the art of interpersonal engagement. They have now provided 4 beautiful grandchildren that are Dave and Faye’s pride and joy.

Faye’s responsibilities are largely in the background, but her greatest enjoyment is working at the reception desk, and chatting with the stream of clients who come through the door. She refers to it as professional visiting.

Faye is proud of the difference that Spring Hill Chiropractic has made to the health and well-being of thousands of clients from Calgary’s northwest over the years, and is excited for the future of the clinic. She looks forward to greeting each and every one of you!

EddieEddie

Eddie has worked at Spring Hill Chiropractic since the spring of 2009. He joined the practice to serve as a greeter and assists in the healing process by eliciting smiles and laughter. Eddie shares the same schedule as Dr. Dave. He looks forward to greeting you!
